These terms apply when you enquire about or book a trek through Himalayan Trek Quest. Read them with our how booking works page and our cancellation and refund policy. Your booking confirmation sets out the details of your trip and takes priority over anything on this website.
Your booking is with Himalayan Trek Quest, Pokhara, Nepal.
A quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Prices on this website are a guide and are confirmed in your quotation. Prices can change before your booking is confirmed if permit fees, flight fares or exchange rates change. Prices shown in currencies other than our own are converted at an indicative rate.
Your booking is confirmed only when you receive a written booking confirmation and we have received any deposit due. Check the names, dates and details on your confirmation and tell us straight away if anything is wrong. The person who makes the booking accepts these terms for everyone named on it.
Your quotation sets out the deposit needed to confirm your booking and when the balance is due. If a payment is not received on time, we may cancel the booking, and our cancellation and refund policy then applies.
If you want to change or cancel a booking, tell us in writing. Our cancellation and refund policy explains how refunds are worked out and which costs cannot be refunded.
Treks in the Himalaya depend on weather, trail conditions, flights and the health of the group. Your guide may change the route, the order of days or the place you stay overnight when that is needed for safety. Domestic flights, especially to Lukla and Jomsom, are often delayed or cancelled by weather. Costs caused by such delays, such as extra nights or alternative transport, are not included in the trip price unless your booking confirmation says otherwise.
You must be fit enough for the trek you book and tell us before booking about any medical condition that could affect you on the trail. Trekking at altitude carries a risk of altitude sickness. Follow your guide's advice on acclimatisation. Your guide may stop you from going higher, or arrange your descent, if they believe your health is at risk. No refund is due for days missed for this reason.
Travel insurance is a condition of booking. Your policy must cover trekking to the highest altitude on your trip, medical treatment and emergency evacuation by helicopter. Send us your policy details before departure.
You are responsible for a valid passport and a Nepal visa. We arrange the trekking permits included in your trip. Send us the passport details and photos we ask for in good time, or we may not be able to obtain your permits.
Follow your guide's instructions and respect local customs, communities and the environment. Your guide may ask a traveller to leave the trek if their behaviour puts others at risk. No refund is due in that case.
We take reasonable care in arranging and running your trek. We are not responsible for loss, injury or delay caused by events outside our control, including weather, natural disasters, strikes, government action or the acts of third parties such as airlines.
If something goes wrong during your trek, tell your guide straight away so it can be put right. If it is not resolved, write to us as soon as possible after your return at [email protected].
