Pokhara is often treated as a place to wait before a trek. Stay a little longer and it becomes a destination in its own right: a lakeside town with mountain views on clear days, easy places to walk, cafés, local markets and access to the Annapurna foothills. The trick is to leave space in your schedule for weather. A cloudy morning can hide the range completely, then the peaks may appear later.
How many days should you spend?
One full day gives you a taste of Lakeside and a viewpoint. Two or three days let you slow down, explore both sides of Phewa Lake, visit a museum or cultural site, and choose a day trip based on conditions. If you are starting or finishing a trek, an extra night is useful for rest, laundry, equipment checks and transport flexibility.
